Yin yoga takes a meditative approach with a deep physical focus and long holds - few postures. Here the practitioner is trying to access the deeper tissues such as the connective tissue and fascia. Yin yoga practice helps maintain joint flexibility, something that for many of us are not concerned about until we notice it is gone. Yin yoga cultivates development of mind-body sensation observation skills.
