Restorative yoga is a comforting and nourishing practice designed to help you go slow in your life, relax, and calm the mind and body.
Restorative postures, supported by blocks, blankets, bolsters, and other props are designed to maximize comfort and allow practitioners to fully let go. Moving slowly, the practice is a sequence of 5 - 8 postures -- held for about 5 minutes or longer.
Remaining still and shutting off the mind takes practice, and this is where the real work is cultivated and for wellbeing growth and development. Most restorative practices are based on the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar. Poses include light twists, seated forward folds, and gentle backbends.
