Botanical CommuniTea Room @ The Vintage Homesteader The Highs and Lows of Tea Celebrations .....
Traditional Afternoon Tea with a "Botanical Twist" is the eloquent and distinctive ambiance of Tea at the Vintage Homesteader. The pervading atmosphere is a sustainable farm with vintage charm. Here Tea takers are welcomed into the "Communi-TEA- Room" which sets a scene that is consciously refined, lighthearted, and elegant. The tempo is calm, poised, and relaxed. The menu is written with poetic sensibility to preserve the SLOW Tea Ceremony too valuable to lose. The aristocrat of the table is the cool and gracious cucumber sandwich. Scones, tarts, pastries, delicate cakes, and tea sandwiches adorn the all essential accoutrement --- the tiered serving stand (center- pièce de résistance).
Afternoon tea begins with 4 botanically inspired sandwiches in recognition of its brainchild and namesake --The Fourth Earl of Sandwich.
Followed are scones that are as warm and authentic as this countryside home, nestled within a tranquil landscape, near St. James, MO; Forest City of the Ozarks. The hour-long, earthly, Tea ritual brings people together with ease and pause for a worthy cause --"Teas for Trees". With each Tea served, we plant a tree, and the forest is preserved.
Here you can have your cake and eat it too! Botanical nutrition, fresh fruits, and edible flowers add vibrancy, taste, and beauty to delicate cakes -- and our famous Black Walnut Forest Gateaux.
Afternoon (low)Tea is served at 2:00 pm. High Tea (a rustic farm-to-table menu) at 4:30 pm.
